CM Himanta Biswa Sarma To Lakhipur, Assam | October 20, 2025: Assam’s Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, is scheduled to visit Lakhipur subdivision of Cachar district on October 25, 2025, for an official tour. During his visit, the Chief Minister will distribute financial assistance checks among the selected beneficiaries of the state government’s flagship scheme — “Mukhyamantrir Mahila Udyamita Abhijan” (Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Mission).
The event will be held at the Labak Tea Estate playground in Lakhipur, where hundreds of women entrepreneurs from across the region are expected to participate. The initiative aims to empower women through financial inclusion and promote local entrepreneurship in rural Assam.
To ensure the success of the Chief Minister’s visit and the smooth execution of the programme, a high-level preparatory meeting was held today at the conference hall of the Lakhipur Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) office in Fulertal.
The meeting was presided over by Hon’ble Minister Mr. Kaushik Rai, and was attended by several senior administrative and police officials from Cachar and Lakhipur districts.
All the official members will be present during the meeting on that day.

Apart from them, representatives from key government departments like the Public Works Department (PWD), Public Health Engineering (PHE), Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL), Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission (ASRLM), and Block Development Offices were also present in the meeting.
Authorities emphasized coordination between departments to manage security, traffic arrangements, public gathering, and logistic support ahead of the Chief Minister’s arrival.
The upcoming event is expected to draw large crowds, as it marks another milestone in the government’s continuous efforts to empower women entrepreneurs and strengthen rural economic development across Assam.
