Shushrusha Setu Mega Health Camp Krishnendu Paul and CMO Assam Lead Mega Health Drive in Sribhumi
District Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi In a remarkable initiative under the Assam Health Department, the “Shushrusha Setu” Mega Health Camp was organized at Nilmoni Higher Secondary School Ground, Sribhumi. The event aimed to provide comprehensive healthcare services to children aged 0–18 years, ensuring access to quality medical assistance for rural communities.
The health camp offered a wide array of services including general health check-ups, anemia and malnutrition screening, developmental assessments, eye, dental, and skin check-ups, as well as hearing and vision testing. Special focus was given to identifying congenital disorders and disabilities for early intervention.

The grand health initiative was inaugurated by District Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, who praised the Assam government’s commitment to rural health and child welfare.
The event saw the presence of several eminent personalities, including Hon’ble Minister Krishnendu Paul, North Karimganj MLA Kamalakshya Dey Purkayastha, former Rajya Sabha MP Mission Ranjan Das, social worker Subrata Bhattacharjee, Municipal Chairman Rabindra Chandra Dev, Zilla Parishad Vice Chairperson Sathi Rai Kuri, and Joint Director of Health Dr. Sumana Naiding.
Each speaker emphasized the importance of early health assessment and preventive care for children. Minister Krishnendu Paul highlighted how the National Health Mission, Assam and CMO Assam are driving accessible healthcare initiatives to every district through partnerships with DIPRO Sribhumi and local health departments.

The “Shushrusha Setu” Health Camp is a part of Assam’s broader mission to bring healthcare within everyone’s reach, especially focusing on rural children and adolescents. The initiative aligns with the vision of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to build a healthy, informed, and self-reliant Assam.
Future programs under this mission aim to include telemedicine support, nutritional awareness sessions, immunization drives, and adolescent health counseling. Officials from MyGov Assam, Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), and National Health Mission (NHM) have confirmed that similar mega health camps will soon be replicated in other districts across Barak Valley.
The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation to all doctors, volunteers, and government staff who worked tirelessly to make the Shushrusha Setu Mega Health Camp a grand success — symbolizing hope, health, and humanity.
