In Ghior, Manikganj, Forced Labor Allegation Case: Video Exposes Horrible Assault
This shocking incident has come out of Ghior, Manikganj where a young man was alleged to have been forced to work in a local training center without paying up.
According to the reports, when he asked proper wages and declined to work without pay, the owner of Manik Computer & Training Center, Ali Azam Manik, reportedly identified local goons, Nasim Bhuiyan and group who roughly beat up the man.
It has been reported to have occurred late at night (June 23, 2025) where it was recorded on CCTV footage, which has become viral.
What the CCTV Footage Shows
Surveillance videos are clear and show some people attacking the victim. One of them can be observed to pull the victim by his beard and to behave violently and verbally abusive. The YouTube clip has caused online outcries as well as among the locals.
Legal Implications
Making a person work without any compensation is deemed as coercion and an abuse of rights to labor as required by the
Bangladesh law. Also, plucking the beard of an individual, considering the religious sensitive nature of a community would amount to an offence to religious feelings, which is a punishable offence as provided in the Penal Code.
The actual assault and the threat can be by Section 323/352/506 of the Penal Code; on voluntary hurt, assault, and criminal intimidation.
