Mirjanur Hussain Assam First Indigo Cadet Pilot has achieved a new milestone of pride and inspiration as Mirjanur Hussain, a 20-year-old youth from Azara Hatkhola Para, Jalukbari, has officially taken his first flight as a professional pilot to South Africa.
Mirjanur, son of Mohammad Saurab Ali and Jusna Bibi, has become Assam’s first cadet pilot to qualify under the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program (2024).
During an exclusive interview with “Rituraj Time,” Mirjanur shared his emotions after years of relentless struggle, saying that his achievement was possible only because of the support of his parents and teachers.
He expressed immense gratitude to everyone who guided him throughout his journey — from his early school days to passing all the aviation exams that led to his dream of flying an aircraft.

His journey began when he applied for the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program and successfully cleared the Compass Test, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview among hundreds of candidates. Mirjanur’s mother, Jusna Bibi, expressed her heartfelt joy and emotion upon her son’s achievement.
At first, she was reluctant to send her only son far away for aviation training, but seeing his passion, she finally agreed — and today, that decision has brought tears of pride and happiness.

Mirjanur underwent 11 months of professional training in South Africa under the INSA Division, completing all flight modules and earning his pilot certification on January 22, 2024.
Following this, he signed a five-year agreement with IndiGo Airlines, officially joining as a cadet pilot — a rare feat for any youth from Assam.
On October 13, 2025, Mirjanur made his first professional flight to South Africa, marking a historic moment for Assam’s aviation community.
