Sribhumi District Panchayat Rural 16 October 2025: Today, Thursday, an important review meeting on Panchayat and rural development projects was held at the conference hall of the Sribhumi District Commissioner’s Office, in the presence of the Departmental Relating Standing Committee of the Assam Legislative Assembly. District Development Commissioner Mr. Deepak Jidung inaugurated the meeting by warmly welcoming the committee chairman and all members.

The meeting was chaired by the Honorable MLA and Committee Chairman Mr. Govinda Chandra Basumatari. The main focus of the meeting was to review the ongoing activities of various development projects under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.

During the meeting, Mr. Mun Gogoi, CEO of the Sribhumi District Council, presented a detailed report on the current status, progress, and implementation of the Panchayat and rural development projects. Following this, heads of several key departments shared comprehensive information and statistics regarding the development activities carried out under their respective departments.

Committee members present included Mr. Diganta Barman, Mr. Sujam Uddin, and Mr. Nizanur Rahman. Other officials present were Additional Secretary Mr. Rajiv Bhattacharya, Under Secretary Mr. Parag K. Medhi, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Alamgir Laskar, along with other departmental heads.

The meeting placed special emphasis on rural infrastructure development, project implementation, and ensuring public benefits. Detailed analyses of departmental performance, timely project completion, and budget utilization were also presented.

Through this review meeting, the district administration and legislative committee aimed to ensure that Panchayat and rural development projects are effectively executed for the welfare of local communities. Challenges, public concerns, and suggestions for further improvements were also discussed during the session.

The initiative by the Sribhumi District Commissioner’s Office reflects administrative transparency, accountability, and effective planning for local development, reinforcing the commitment of the district administration to achieve tangible results in ongoing rural development projects.
