In a proud moment for the entire Barak Valley, Saha Newaj’s Flyingfeet Karate Academy — under the banner of Bharat Karate Academy — has brought immense glory to the region. Five talented karatekas from the academy showcased outstanding performances at the Independence Cup 2025 held in New Delhi, winning multiple medals and securing qualification to represent India at the 10th International Karate Championship – KL Mayers Cup 2025, scheduled in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (October 30 – November 4, 2025). 🇮🇳🥋

Championship Highlights – Independence Cup 2025 (New Delhi):
Day 1:
• Swarnab Malakar and Zuhera Khanam displayed commendable spirit and determination, though they were eliminated in the first round.
Day 2:
🏅 Team Kumite (10–13 years):
Zaheen Ahmed and Swarnab Malakar, as part of the Indian team alongside participants from Punjab and Madhya Pradesh, advanced to the semi-finals, winning two matches and securing the Bronze Medal 🥉.
🏅 Individual Junior Women -53 kg:
Wakifa Begum delivered an outstanding performance, winning two matches and claiming the Bronze Medal 🥉.
Day 3:
🏅 Individual Sub-Junior Men -45 kg:
Zaheen Ahmed continued his impressive form, winning two crucial matches, reaching the semi-finals, and earning yet another Bronze Medal 🥉.
👉 With this, he became the first-ever athlete from Barak Valley to win two medals in an international-level karate competition — a historic milestone in the region’s sporting legacy.
🏅 Individual Sub-Junior Women -42 kg:
Sadia Akhtar Laskar displayed excellent skill and determination to win the Bronze Medal 🥉 for India.
